Thank you to all who replied to my questions about Memorial Day. I call Death Valley my "zen place", and appreciate the fact that other people enjoy DV as much as I do. We go to Cal. to meet family once a year, and my wife eventually gets tired of my planning of our 2 day excursion to the Valley. Although she appreciates the beauty and tranquility of DV, she doesn't get the same thing out of it as I do. When I was growing up in Southern Cal., we would visit DV during every Thanksgiving. Now that I live all the way across the country, Death Valley is the most anticipated part of our vacation.
