The slick way to carry extra gas is to look into an auxillary tank, or a high capacity replacement. That way you can use it around town.
Second is to carry gas cans on a roof rack (I'd go with the low plastic style for the roof) or a rear rack with metal jerry style cans. I made a rack that slips into the receiver. The rack also carries the hi lift jack.
