In the winter of 1923-24 Paramount Pictures filmed Zane Grey's epic "Wanderer of the Wasteland". It was Hollywood's first all-color movie and gave the world its first technicolor glimpes of the deadly valley. The director came back the next winter, restored the old Bottle House, and shot Rhyolite as "Ghost City" in the western called "The Air Mail". Only in tinsel town! If Paramount changed town names, why not a mountain range. Thus Paramount Mountains.
