I sure hope they do rebuild, and keep their claim on the ranch ("in-holding", as the NPS likes to refer to it as) I believe some of the Meyers family lives in the San Jose, CA area. I met some of them at the ranch, a couple of years ago. I only recall one persons name (Corkie), but not entirely sure of that either. My brother was staying at Stella's cabin (Greater View Springs), and the day before I arrived, he had a visit from several members of the Meyers family. One of the persons was an older gentleman, and he said that he had worked there in the mine in his youth. He had a photo album with lots of pictures of the cabins, and various people that were working there. Was very interesting to see. They left the album with my brother for his perusal. They just asked him to return it to them at the Meyers Ranch on his way out. (Very trusting people, I would say) I left a day or two before my brother, so I volunteered to deliver the album. When I stopped at the Ranch, some of their vehicles were there, but no people. I just stashed it with some of their supplies they had sitting on the porch. It wasn't until the following year that I finally met "Corky", and her husband, at the ranch. I asked if the album was safely delivered to the owner, and they said they thought it had. I sure hope so, after the way they trusted my brother with it's safe keeping. I sure wish I knew how to contact the Meyers, just to follow up on the return of the album, and also to inquire of their plans for the ranch.
