... I wouldn't spend five dollars to go to Bodie on a tour with someone. However, if someone wants to spend excessive money for a tour there, that is their perogative. It is all part of supply and demand economics, if their was no one interested in the tours their would be no business, and we would not be discussing this.
Also, I am not about to judge the tours since I have not been on one. I know their is much more to Bodie, or any ghost town, than what meets the eye. Perhaps 300 bucks for interesting info and a Bodie history lesson is worth it. I was lucky to have a father who took me to Bodie and spent hours studying it and relaying the history to me since I was five years old. Not everyone is so fortunate.
Frisco, you misinterpreted my message to you. I simply was trying to inform you that you will not win a debate alienating a large group of people, i.e. dog owners.
Is the website link of question posted here inappropriate? Perhaps-- that is the webmaster's decision to remove it. I would reason that most people on this board don't have a need for tours. The adress probably was just an innocent attempt to share info, which turned into a discussion of character assasination. Earlier, a link to an L.A. based audio equipment company was posted. That was very inappropriate. At least this one has relevance to this site....
