How much driving are you willing to do?

I'd recommend starting at the Furnace Creek Visitor's Center, talk to the rangers for current conditions and get their recommendations. You might consider getting a guide like "The Explorers Guide to Death Valley National Park" (bright pink and violet book).

Some of the standard places include Badwater, Dante's View, Devil's Golf Course, Golden Canyon, Artist's Drive, Sand Dunes near Stovepipe, Mosaic Canyon, Salt Creek, and Scotty's Castle.

A bit more driving takes in Titus Canyon (highly recommended!), Racetrack Playa (also highly recommended), the Wildrose Charcoal Kilns, Cottonwood Canyon, Eureka Dunes.

We'll be out there with our green Jeep Wrangler during Thanksgiving week.
