As much as I hate to admit it, the vehicle that never stranded me, ever, was my old K-5 Blazer with the Quadrajet, 350 small block, and NP203 chain driven transfer case. Oh, and I had the indestructible Warn 8274 mounted to the brush bar. It came from the factory with dual battery and hand throttle, wish I could get those options factory today!

It was amazing, because things would break (like Leaf Springs) or go bad (heads) or bust (like wheel bearings) and you could still drive it. I ended up driving it over 200 miles with no bearing on the left rear wheel. Yes, the axle shaft got worn down a bit, but it cost me almost nothing to replace it because junkyards are full of the parts you need.

I would never say that the Blazer was high quality - far from it, it's a beater, but somehow it just kept going.

Now I drive vehicles where a single repair would cost more than that Blazer, not sure if that's a good thing...
