What Cliff is trying to say is take the road north past Scotty's Castle and Ubehebe Crater, out of Death Valley, through Eureka Valley and over the Inyo Range to BIG PINE. I traveled the road from my home in Big Pine to Crankshaft Crossing, then east and up Tule Canyon last Wednesday and the road was superb through Eureka Valley, washboarded from Crater to Crankshaft Crossing.
