I drive a late model Toyota SR5 PU with GoodYear Wranglers. On a recent trip to S. Utah, I was actually beaten back on a trip by a 55 mile long washboard road. I tried "getting on top" and slowing down but these washboards were perfectly spaced to produce the maximum agony. Despite my confidence in my truck, I decided that it just wasn't worth the punishment and turned back. My question is: What is the best method of easing the pain of extremely long washboard surfaces? Right now, I'm considering renting a 4X4 with a plush suspension rather than subjecting my steed to the torture. Your expertise is appreciated as always.
