Sunday, July 06, 2003 - AMBOY: Man dies after hiking in 124-degree heat
A 64-year-old Montebello man died Saturday evening after hiking in 124-degree heat about a mile south of National Trails Highway near Amboy, coroner's officials said Sunday. Albert Stoltz went hiking with a friend near the Amboy crater Saturday afternoon. After he became disoriented and staggered, his friend went to get help.
When the friend returned with San Bernardino County Fire Department paramedics, Stoltz was given water but he was unable to keep the water down.
Stoltz stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest, coroner's officials said. Paramedics attempted resuscitation but were unsuccessful. Stoltz was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m.<<<<<

Be careful out there folks, especially those that are planning on traveling alone.
