Temperature confusing

Please allow me some questions regarding the temperatures:
1. If you take a look at this site
http://www.instaweather.com/wtvc/default.asp?cid=95&id=DTHVL
you can see that they report a highest temperature for Death Valley 118.4 F for 7/12/2003. On the Morning Report from the Park itself you can read a highest temperature of 128 F. This is a very big difference. What´s behind this difference?
2. On the same site you can see that they report a highest temperature of 132.6 F for Bennett ES in Laughlin, Nevada for 7/10/2003. Is anyone from this area or has anyone heard about it? Somehow I can´t believe it was so hot there - it´s very close to the Death Valley and US Record and also to the Worle Record. Any information?
3.The Badwater Instrument:
Does anyone know the excactly date on which it was installed? Does anyone have a web address where you can see the current temperature? Why isn´t Badwater lsited on the Morning Report? A story on the web tells that they have installed the instrument at Badwater only to get the World Record back from Libya and that if the ever will record there more than 136 F that would not official - only a fake. My question: if there will ever be more than 136 F would that be a new World Record - OFFICIAL???
Many thanks for any help.
