I drove that road in an extended cab f250 about 2 years ago. There were a couple of "skinny" parts where I got out and checked clearance. The rangers have done the same trip in a humvee. Lots of "bounce" in spots-managed to pound a plastic 5 gallon container to 2/3 height. There is a narrow slot canyon at the dunes end that has a 1-2' drop, but I managed it OK. Expect a lot of heat from the canyon walls this time of year.
