While this issue proably would not effect your rig if you have a lightly loaded pickup truck you
might find the rear wheels locking up which you
don't want to happen on a wet road. Not all ABS
systems are bad on trails or bad roads. Newer ones have smarts in em that will lock up the wheels on gravel or packed snow at slower speeds.
I know my 2002 Nissan Frontier works just fine on
gravel or snow. Older not as thoughtout systems can cause problem when trying to stop on gravel
and such. I once watched an Dodge Ram go right
off the end of a parking lot because of the combination of gravel and ABS.
