When we went over the Swansea Grade a few weeks ago it was in great condition. But the Yellow Grade Road had experienced a 4 foot wash out and was closed for the 3 days I was up there. When we were ready to go home we followed the road crews down as they put finishing touches on it. Then the following week more storms came and washed out part of the ghosttown of Swansea on the Owens dry lake side. And the Yellow Grade Road experienced more washes out, but was quickly repaired from what I understand. Been a lot of weather up through that area, Owens Valley and the Eastern Sierras, this summer, so it's best to keep an eye on weather and road reports when traveling. Things can change instantly - always be prepared.
