Just talked to the Inyo county folks regarding
north pass saline. They doubt that they are even
going to start on repairs until 3 weeks or so. They have paved roads that are out that they have
to fix first. They also have to find a supply of
fill to fill the hole. This is not easy considering NPS rules. I think the information from Joel's BLM source is incorrect. They also said the project won't be fast as the damage is
severe. If I had to make a guess it will be mid-october before the road is fixed if than. All of
this depends on the other roads in the county staying fixed and that depends on the weather which could cause more problems. I also asked
about south pass and he said rough but passible
in otherwards normal :-)
