Stock vehicles on most roads will do fine, Andrew. Regarding Swansea Grade not advisable to travel alone, and in November there could be early snows. Yellow Grade road to Cerro Gordo is the normal route of travel passable by high clearance 2wheel drive vehicles, even. However this year it has washed out in summer storms several times and is still waiting for repair from the last one, although I imagine it's passable as is in a 4wd stock Blazer. By November who knows. You should call John & Roxie, the caretakers up there and advise them of your visit if you plan to stop in town. They can also let you know what current weather and road conditions are. Hope to be up there myself in November for Thanksgiving.

Others here can advise you about the other routes you mentioned. Have a great time!

On my archives page of my website I have info about visiting Cerro Gordo.
