Re: Bristlecone, down between Independence and big pine is a really pleasant, developed hot springs - someone help me out on the name - right off hwy 395 that makes a good companion to a hike/and the twisty but accessible road to Bristlecone.

Re: Trona Pinnacles - after rains, that road is really rough (I drive a toyota sedan, sadly, someday I'm gonna have four wheel drive) well worth seeing though.


great soft serve ice cream with chocolate shells at the little bittle fast food stand in trona. (Yeah i have kids)

good route into DV from pinnacles is to take wildrose rather than panamint for most scenic. At the sign "Danger falling rocks" enjoy a picnic.
