I'd call Panamint Springs first to make sure there are no softball-sized rocks strewn about the runway, as was the case a few years ago when we landed ultralights there. Since the strip is uphill, you should have no problems using STOL tactics. The biggest obstacle to a safe landing are the mental doubts that overcome some as they approach to land. Panamint Springs airstrip has a reputation for chewing up and spitting out private aircraft, so be careful.
