Does anyone know of a scientific study of ladybugs (Hippodamia covergens, convergent lady beetle, lady beetle) in the Death Valley area and the Panamint Mountains and Panamint Valley specifically? Much has been written about lady- bugs in the Central Valley and the Sierras, Iím wondering if studies have been made of the their Panamint cousins.
I have seen aggregations of ladybugs in the branch of Happy Canyon below the Porter Mine and have watched what looked like millions of ladybugs floating down Happy Canyon towards the Panamint Valley in the spring. An impressive sight.
