I don't nuch like the AAA map I have, although I don't know if I have the same one as scooter or not. The Tom Harrison map is good, but doesn't have much detail. The 7.5 maps are good, but you would need a whole lot of them, and they don't provide a good "Big Picture", because each one covers only a fairly small part of the park.

I like the National Geographic Trails Illustrated map -- it has topo lines and is fairly detailed. The down side is that it is double sided, which means that only one/half of the park can be seen on each side. It is printed on plastic so it doesn't rip or tear, and can get wet without damage. (Tom Harrison map is also printed on plastic)

I bought mine at the Furnace Creek visitors center, but you can buy them on-line, too.
