I'm coming to you live from the fancy Motel 6 in Beatty, Nevada. We got to Wildrose around 2:00 and the road was definitely closed. We had to come in from 190 and Towne's Pass. When we got to Towne's Pass we had snow. Look in the Los Angeles Daily News tomorrow and you may see the picture that my husband sent in, if they use it, - he's the chief photo editor over there.

We had rain most of the trip from Mojave on. We did have to be careful about flooding in the roads, but nothing unmanageable.

Heard a report on the scanner about two women rangers stuck 3 in mud 3 miles above Lower Warm Springs. Apparently one was walking to the campground for help, but at not reached there yet from last we heard on the radio. The ranger staying at the truck was communicating with someone at the main station trying to get help. We also heard someone at Warm Springs who said that they had over an inch of rain there. He also said as of yet he had not seen ranger coming in for help. Apparently, the women had tried shovels and tried to dig out but were unable to do.

We heard these reports around 4:00, I believe, and haven't heard any more. Meantime, here in Beatty, it's cold and raining, but no snow.
