I read in the Ridgecrest, Ca newspaper this evening that BLM's Steve Smith will host a public meeting on Tuesday featuring the Adopt A Cabin program. The article mentions the new Burro Schmidt Adopt A Cabin. Has the BLM taken over the Burro Schmidt property and tunnel? Also, during a recent visit to one of the Adopt A Cabins near Garlock Road, a sign was posted by the "caretaker" advising that the cabin is reserved for the Thanksgiving weekend for their use. I thought there were no reservations allowed and all cabins were on a first-come, first-served basis. Are the Adopt A Cabins now available for reserved use?
