If I remember right Burro Schmidt's as already been listed in the map of Adopt-A-Cabins for the past year or more, but they are waiting to officially do anything until they get the current caretaker out.

I talked to Robin at Jawbone Station, and asked her if she knew anything about the current caretaker being given hhis notice to get out, per one of the other posts on the board a few days ago. She said she had not heard anything officialyet, but was not surprised. I also asked her about the Maturango Museum taking over Burro Schmidt's Tunnel and she said basically from what she understood, it was solely going to be BLM.

I know what you guys mean about the dirtbikers on Thanksgiving weekend! We went out with my son's group one Thanksgiving. They camp in Dove Springs OHV area, in their motorhomes, and yes they respect rules and clean up after themselves. But I have never seen such a crowd. I much prefer our Thanksgivings up at Cerro Gordo!
