Panamint Valley is nice > water scarce > Suprise Canyon has lots of water though. Are you packing or car camping? ETI has an annual 125 mile ride from Ridgecrest to Furnace Creek. Last year I rode my mule up Surprise Cyn to the first water fall > it was nice. Didn`t make it to Panamint City. Rocky Novack enjoyed seeing the mules instead of dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. If you are packing the Park Service won`t allow any grazing so plan on packing your feed. I worked at Reds Meadow for Bob Tanner the summer of 2001. Most of my packing is the east side of the Sierra`s. You will enjoy the Panamints no matter where you go. Oh Telescope Peak is off limts to stock > hikers only.
