I will post some pics, I have stuck with the old gelatin format, so when they return I'll scan and post some.

Regarding tyres, the same happened to me in 2001 on the second day of my holiday to Utah. This time it was on the Kaiparowits plateau and the jack sank in the sand. I had to wait two hours for the next vehicle to come. I had thought that the road to Ballarat would be easy, my mistake.

Has anybody else been to Borrego Desert State Park? I found it quite relaxing, mainly 'cos it was empty. I drove through Split Mountain along Fish Creek Wash. I wanted to visit the drop offs in search of damaged cars supposedly left there, but bottled out as it got very narrow - again the paperwork for the rental company would have been too complicated (try just getting $126 dollars back for a tyre when you have the receipt).

Anyway, if want to hear more details just ask.

Andrew
