As mentioned Power Tank is one alternative; another is using an airconditioner compressor as an air pump, you could get one cheap from a junk yard I would imagine. I know a few people who've done that. Personally I spent a bit more and am using a Thomas 12vdc compressor. It's 100% duty cycle (doesn't need to be shut off every few minutes to cool off). Under the bed of my truck is a modified fire extinguisher tank to use as an air tank. The system is excellent and I think it takes a little under 3 minutes to air my 33x12.50s from 12psi back to 30 (that's per tire, not 3 minutes for all 4!).

Another system is the Quick Air brand. You can get those as stand alone or units to be mounted into the rig. Quick Air 3 is the most powerful of the bunch. I'd tend to avoid the "truck air" compressors from local auto shops or department stores, I just think they'd be too slow and burn out too soon. I imagine they're more for the ocassional need, not a major air up of all 4 at one time.
