I was in DV the weekend of 2/14 - 2/15. We camped as we came out of Mengel Pass/Butte Valley, etc. We were near West Side Road. On the morning's drive I was pleasantly surprised by a number of small yellow flowers lining the sides of the road. I was expecting flowers later in the season. With some already, and some rain falling on the desert, yes, indeed perhaps a good flower season!
