red pass/baker

can anyone tell me if you can still get through red pass in the soda mts. or maybe the avawatz mts. about 35 mi. n/o baker. I was there 49 yrs ago. and would like to try and go back again. You got there via n. end silver lake "dry". to high power line turn left and followed a rut to the right. Ther were still three buildings standing.Plus something i've never befor seen in the desert,an old auto gas tank with a glass guage.Without one bullet hole in it. If anyone has some info about this please answer.Thank You in advance. Lee
