Base security not a joking matter!

China Lake is in the process of installing new chain link fence with barbwire along the Trona / Ridgecrest Road (178). Additionally, ground sensors have been installed on the northern boundary of China Lake near Darwin and Highway 395. Two off-roaders were detained for a few hours last week with tickets being issued from China Lake and the sheriff department for trespassing.

Edwards AFB; along 395 and 58 are numerous camera mounts. Many of there boundries are now being patrolled by both ground and air vehicles.

Ft. Irwin NTC; the northern and eastern boundary of the base is now patrolled regularly. Near Goldstone a remote camera has been installed. Convoy Rd. from I-15 to the base is now patrolled with signs indicating this is a government road and vehicles are subject to search. 122 citations have already been issued this year alone for trespassing, most of them offroaders.

All military bases have installed new boundary signs with warnings and fines.

Some facts:
A trespasser found on a military installation is subject to immediate arrest, impoundment of vehicle(s) and hefty fines.
If trespasser is found with a weapon, it is an immediate arrest and a federal matter with the FBI.

The military is taking this matter very seriously.
