2 day trip through DV

Hi there.

I am in the process of planning a cross country trip which I plan to take next month. I have always wanted to see Death Valley and have found this forum very valuable in helping me to get familiar with the Nat Park and the area

As I am putting the finishing touches on the trip plan, I would welcome your comments as to whether what I have planned is reasonable or too much to try to do at one time.

Plans are to leave Las Vegas early and come up through the south entrance. Visit/drive through Ashford Mill, Badwater, Devil's Golf Course, Artist's Drive, Golden Canyon, Zabriskie Point, Dante's Peak and then head to Beatty.
The next day I would head from Beatty back through the Nat Park , through Furnace Creek and Panamint on my way to the coast.

Also, what is the road like up to Dante's Peak? I'm not a fan or driving on mountain roads with no guardrails. Is the walk up from the large vehicle parking lot manageable?
