Titus Canyon Road

I hope to be in DV in mid-April, driving my own Subaru Legacy (not the higher-riding Outback) through.
Is Titus Canyon Road passable then and safe for a AWD car (not a truck or SUV) to drive on?
I've heard much about it and am eager to see it, but don't want to get caught unaware.
