We were exploring what I think was Goler Gulch (just outside Garlock) a few days ago for the first time. Going in on Charlie Road off of Garlock Road we passed what looked like a small encampment made up of some old cabins, a few old trailers and some newly arrived RVs as well. I am also wondering about the school that was up in the gulch in the 1930s (only indicated by a sign). That seems like a late date to have needed a school there. A little bit farther up the gulch there was what appeared to be a cement swimming pool. We exited the area passing a little cemetery with small wooden whitewashed crosses, some covered with all matter of rusting mine parts, broken crockery and assorted gewgaws. Surprisingly, a few of the marked graves were fairly recent. One grave appeared to be for two pets. The entire area left its mark on me.
Is there anywhere on the internet that I can get more information about this particular settlement?
