Latest on Bandit location?

Is there any word on the latest where abouts of the bandit? Planning a trip near Ballarat soon and wondering if its a good idea or not. I've read that he was in that area a while ago, but haven't seen much about any recent sightings/encounters.

Anyone have any info?
