What is the other plentiful bush, then?

I has always thought the straggly, green-leaved desert bush was mesquite, and the creosote was the small, roundish shrub that is also very plentiful in the SW desert. What, then, is the small, roundish and grayish shrub we see so often comingled with the creosote? Thank you, DV.COM, for the learning experience.
