I think for the most part it was just the set I had. I've run BFG's for years with never a problem. One thing I will mention in regard to MT's though, (and this was my fault not the tires)
We were out east of Afton a few years back, when we came upon a small section of mud. I watched my two buddies go through (both running AT's) doing the "slip and slide" thing after their tires packed up with the mud. I (running the MT's) drove through straight as an arrow, mud flying everywhere. The MT's did exactly what they were designed to do. However, they throw mud off both sides of the wheel. The undercarriage of my truck was completely coated with the stuff. Anyway, to make a long story short, when I got home, I hosed off the trucks top side, but waited about a week to pressure wash the undercarriage. Don’t know what was in that mud, but it ate the bottom of my truck something fierce. Again, totally my fault. But if you’re going to run MT’s, I’d make sure you pressure wash every inch of your undercarriage as soon as you can.
