We just got back from spending 4 days in Panamint Springs.

Highlights of the trip included a visit with Rocky at Ballarat. He told me the story of his water wheel being carried down the canyon by the '84 flash flood. He said it was a wild thing to see.

Donna is indeed gone. A new chest refer/freezer is in, and the restroom are much improved. Rockey says he wants to start getting the store back to its former glory (My words not his). The road was graded by Briggs that morning.

The next day we headed out of Panamint Springs, over to Lee Flat, up Hunter Mountain (stopping at the cabin for lunch), then down Hunter to Ulida Flat, through Hidden Valley and a break at the Lost Burro Mine. Then on through Lost Burro Gap to Teakettle Junction. Our 3 yr old daughter loved the kettles. Then a quick visit to the bottom of the Racetrack. It's now really easy to see where a number of the moving rock have been stolen. Grrrrrr... Then back in the truck for a quick sprint up to Ubehebe Crater before returning to PS for a beer and dinner.

Sunday morning/lunch was spent trying to fix a flat. Somewhere I'd managed to pick up a 4" bolt clean through the tread blocks of by BFT MTs. The guys at FC tried a combo patch & plug but it wouldn't hold any pressure. Got a spare off the roof rack and headed back to Panamint to hang out at Lake Hill.

Monday.....drove back to Santa Cruz.
