You think you are locked out now. Wait and see what will happen if the funding to support the land that we are preserving for our children's children dries up and if you think that is bad, take a look at what happens to access when mining opens up or drilling for oil starts. The lack of funding is hurting everyone, not to mention Death Valley itself. Next time Titus gets washed out because of flash floods it may not reopen because of lack of staffing and safety issues.
Next time you scream about the government taking all the land look at your favorite open space near where you live, whether it is a park or an open pasture, and ask yourself just how long it will be before it is developed and there are houses on it. BLM is selling off land around Vegas to accomodate all the growth that is going on there. Soon there won't be many open spaces left except for the places the "government" has grabbed!
