If you look at my excellent profile of Striped Butte you should note that the butte is in a sense and island on an alluvial fan. Since, by definition, an alluvial is not level it should be obvious that you should define where YOUR ‘foot’ is (degree, minute, second.) and then we can calculate the height from the ‘foot’ you have selected to the summit. Others might select a different ‘foot’ and thus get an answer different from your answer. This sort of thing is part of life and I see no way other than to except such vagaries. But, we are concern here with the ‘foot’ you select, would accuracy to one inch be satisfactory or would you prefer we get down to millimeters? I’m at your service.
