RV or rent-a-car?

My 14 yr old son & I will be in DV over Thanksgiving week in my 'old' motorhome - 23'. For our travels, should I tow a rented car? I want to get to every place possible including S Castle, Titon cyn. etc. I'm thinking of staying at Furnace Creek for the amenities for my son - any comments? (I'm sure there are! :) )
