Actually EK, don't believe anything you read. Mining is a nefarious plot by capitalist pigs to destroy the environment, kill endangered species of worthless vermin, and make as much money while polluting the planet you could imagine. They seek out pristine places like the poor side of town to carry out their dastardly deeds.
Unless of course you actually believe that God put these resources where he did so that our scientists, engineers, and geologists could exercise their knowledge for the betterment of mankind, and make a couple of bucks while they're at it?
