Hey there Bigfoot. Yep, the flood is over but the damage isn't. Topography has changed out here. Places where there used to be roads don't have roads anymore. It's not that the desert has been washed over the road, it's that there is no road. It's gone. Best guesstimate on the flood surge by the Furnace Creek Inn by people who were there and who are lucky to be alive is 10 feet. Let me say that again... a wall of water, 10 feet high, full of boulders. Cars and vans were washed ~3/4 of a mile down the fan. You could hear it from a mile away. It's like that at many places along 190.

Here at Furnace Creek, our water supply is gone. Sewage is gone. Re-supply is not happening. We are getting water in bottles from Lone Pine and Beatty.

Don't encourage people to come out here right now. They will only be turned around at the barricades or cited for running them.

This ain't no picnic, bub. All y'all need to help us by staying the hell out of here for now. Our limited resources are stretched past the limits. Please, don't stretch them further.
