Don't you people listen? Do you listen at all?
I was responding to the comment that there were barriers, when there were none, and that there were road closed signs when there were none.
You people want it both ways. First, it's "Oh, people shouldn't go around barriers, that's how they end up in those situations".
Note that the assumption originally was that there were barriers, forming the ASSUMPTION and EXPECTATION that this did happen as we all know this is the duty of the state to do so when they can (which is the argument by the way, not any of this other bashing).
Then, when it becomes known that there were no barriers, it's "Oh, you were just being stupid and now you want to blame people".
How can we have that both ways? To first assume the barriers were there, forming the expectation, and then saying people are stupid because they should have known something that people here in this forum agreed should have been formed as a warning through barriers as such?
The logic here just fascinates me.
You guys here are just reactionary.
I did take responsibility for myself. I did what I had to do. Did the State? I don't know.
Hey, you know, in my job, if I do something irresponsible, I get sued. Many of us do when we do something or fail to do something we should have.
I think there is just a general defensiveness here I don't understand. If the State could have done better and saved lives, we need to think about this so maybe people won't die next time.
This is how we do it. Whether I did anything stupid the other night is not even close to the point. Go to the original point: there were NO BARRIERS, NO SIGNS, NO WARNINGS...
Should there have been? I think so, but I could be wrong -- that is the argument.
By calling me stupid, you desecrate the memories of the people who died the other day, because I will not call them stupid if they were just tourists and didn't know any better -- this is why my reaction is so strong here.
So, I will give it back to you people -- don't be so narrow minded and cynical that you can't even think that 3 people may have died the other day when it could have been prevented..
Call me stupid if you wish, but you've entirely missed the point.
