Interesting. The proof may be “in the pudding” as you say, but this pudding so far does not seem to be jelling for me.

The coordinates you gave do not seem to correspond to your written descriptions. In fact, a couple of them do not fall within the boundaries of the China Lake ranges as defined on maps. I take it there may be some typos in them, if you could, would you confirm that you posted them correctly? Thanks. Or is it a case were the China Lake ranges are larger than what is represented on public maps?

The two leach ponds you describe, what would the approximate size of these be? From your written descriptions of the locations you must have been 5 or 6 miles from them to be on public land, good field glasses will bring that in quite well. One of them is dry and the other is not from your description, correct? What do you think the Navy would be doing that they would need leach ponds for? I would think that leach ponds would be more likely left over from mining activities prior to the Navy starting to use the area in question.

As for the rest, I too wait in anticipation of some of the frivolously closed access to be re-opened, but I do not think it will happen anytime soon.
