My buddy (Lar-Dog) and I did that trail a few years back, kinda by accident. It was a combo of seeing the trail on a map and also saying "Hey, where do you think this road goes?" "Let's find out!!!" Thats the best kind of desert exploring.
I agree with the other post. The worst part of the trip is the Lava Field. It's a bitch!! The trail fades in and out. Just plan for a little extra time for that part and you'll be fine. Enjoy! and Safe Trails!
