Yep I think you are right. The picture you posted looks like the terrain as I remember it. After we hit the ridge trail heading north-east, we encountered one section with a very bad side slope to the left side of the trail. We had to put a couple of people on the high side of the Jeep to keep down the threat of tipping. Then further along there was an optional steep climb up a hill to the left. with a sand pit near the top. You had to make a quick jog in the sand part, then up and over a saddle at the top. It was there that I found that my newly purchased CJ5 with Warn-o-Matic hubs did not have matching differentials. I later discovered that the front axle was 4.88:1 , and the rear was 3.73:1. With the higher ratio in the rear, the front axle never got a chance to engage the automatic hubs, so I was effectively in 2Wheel drive! Needless to say I got bogged down in the sand pit, and was teetering on a rollover. My brother and a friend took their Jeeps around another route to get to the top of the hill at the saddle. They dropped a cable down to me which I tied off to the front of the Jeep. When they started to pull me, my Jeep literally swung like a pendulem around until it was a straight pull. that was enough excitement for one day.
