I understand your comments/questions and think that (while the others posts are true felt and which I generally agree with) weekends may be best for you and the "upper" Palm Springs might "jive" better... Remember these folks also love this place and try to make others feel welcome but there is always personal-political BS where people gather. Also the saggy "stuff" WILL happen to everyone including you! Attitude is a different issue!
Soak it all up and have fun or just stay at work and be productive.
