For heavens sake, be careful out there. The Ubehebe BF is wary not just of the affected Lederhosen (very common traveling apparel of the standard German tourist, much as the Dutch are given to their wooden shoes). The insatiable hunger of BF is quickly roused by any donned apparel. Researchers of BF are therefore strongly urged to conduct all field work at the bottom of the crater completely nude.

Please be advised that water and food sources at the bottom of Ubehebe crater are of no concern to the Ubehebe BF as there is ample supply of both in their underground BF lair. Just below the floor of Ubehebe crater lie the uppermost levels of the vast underground BF complex. The topmost level of which just happens to be the food court. BFs spend most of their days and nights within the confines of this complex relaxing, clubbing, and just generally living out their lives. Only rarely does one ascend through the hatch to the floor of the Ubehebe crater to "get a little fresh air" as I hear it is a little "steamy" down below, if you know what I mean.

Though the subterranean complex is little known outside of the BF community (I only mention it here because the subject came up) all visitors -- and espcicially BF Society field researchers -- are welcome to visit... sans clothes, of course. It is very simple to gain admittance to their chambers. Simply walk out onto the little hard-pack playa there at the bottom of the crater (nude, I remind you, lest you be eaten) and jump up and down while hooting loudly and clapping your hands over your head. Continue on thusly until someone arrives to collect you.

My warmest holiday wishes to you and all. Happy hunting.
