I visited on 4/4 and comments by other visitors said that the place is being looted. One fellow told my that in the 3 1/2 weeks since he had been there prior to the 4th, that a whole lot is gone - stolen. I know that a man had been operating a little cart into the tunnel but that BLM kicked him out a couple months ago. I thought BLM was going to put a caretaker out there but I've also heard that they are talking about bulldozing it too. Who knows. It's the first time I had been out there and I'm glad we did because who knows how long it will be there.
