The hill in the background is the scene of the original Bullfrog strike by Harris & Cross, if memory serves me correctly.

I traveled up this grade to access the site of Gold Bar (after camping the night parked right on the LV&T grade) where the grade crossed the road to Gold Bar; then we went to Phinney Canyon and Strozzi Ranch in April 2000.

The next day (after camping above Strozzi), I returned via the LV&T grade over Mud Spring Summit and back to Rhyolite, after a detour to the Happy Hooligan Mine.

Lunch in Beatty at the Burro, then my buddy (from SoCal) and I split on our seperate paths home.

Fun trip in the Nevada Triangle.
