Good advice Doug. I often see people posting here saying Ham Radio is the preferred. With that it is assumed those contemplating using amateur radio know they have to be licenced. Anyone using an Amateur radio without a licence stands the risk of a huge fine, and/or loss of said radio and possibly their vehicle.
Fran, if you're buying the Jeep new, why not just add the suspension lift and lockers now. Then you'll be complete. Don't forget those all important skid plates. One for the steering box, the fan, oil pan, transfer case and gas tank. Believe me you'll thank yourself for spending the extra money after hitting the first boulder just a little too hard.
